Learning new things is the essence of human growth. The more we know, the less we judge. The less we judge, the less we hate. This supports harmony in all things. When we accept reality, damage that occurs as a result of imaginary misunderstandings ceases to be as much of a problem.
Integrity indicates that we move towards understanding that imaginary things are unreal. We move away from delusion and deception. Validity indicates that we accept what actually occurs rather than ignoring what has proven to be the case. These two sides of a similar concept often produce significant conflict, since people interpret things differently. When we accept that we will not always be accepted by others, we can prepare ourselves for occasional conflicts and get on with living. Steel is harder than flesh.
Life is growth. When growth ends, decay and death set in. This is not convenient but it is inevitable. Use it or lose it. We need to continue growing until we can't do it any more. Have you noticed that when those around you stop learning, they tend to shrink intellectually until they seem quite out of touch? Then they die. This is the dark side of the law of growth.
